In summer, the tracks and paths of the Maures forest massif are almost yours alone, since access is limited to owners and their guests, except of course during periods of great drought, when it is forbidden for anyone to walk in the hills.

Important: The var.gouv.fr website, in its section "access to the Var forest massifs" gives the color of the fire risk alert map every day. If it is red or red +, walking in the massif is prohibited. You will find this information updated daily also, on a sign located at the entrance to the Route des Cavalières.
