Ambalao is completely autonomous in electricity and water.

For electricity we have solar panels. Our system converts to 230V, but the power is really limited, especially because the pool pump also runs on electricity.

For water, there is a spring that sometimes flows during the winter, and we also have a borehole from which we can pump water. We normally store between 50 and 100 m3 of drinking water. More recently, we started building a system to catch and store rainwater to water our gardens. Maybe one day we will be autonomous in food too!
